Ronaldo Is The Greatest Striker Of All Time Says Inter President Massimo Moratti

Inter president Massimo Moratti has praised retiring striker Ronaldo. The Brazilian legend, who spent five years with Inter from 1997 to 2002, announced his retirement on Monday.

"I'm sorry he will stop playing," the Nerazzurri supremo was quoted as saying by inter.it.

"Ronaldo is the greatest striker in history. There is affection and esteem for him. There was the pleasure of those who saw him play in our shirt during a special year. For us it was a privilege. I wish him well in the future."

The club patron also chided his side for missing opportunities to find an equaliser in Sunday's 1-0 Derby d'Italia loss to rivals Juventus.

The Beneamata piled on the pressure in the second-half, but couldn't find a way past Gianluigi Buffon in goal, with their best chance going begging in the final minute when Samuel Eto'o hit the crossbar from close range.

"It's useful to remember this defeat also for some positive things, in the second-half the team did what it could," he continued.

"Our opponents were very good. In terms of tactics we were stumped. Then we made some errors on our chances to score allowing the possibility of defeat."

Inter now sit in fourth place in Serie A, eight points behind leaders Milan, with a game in hand.
