The rush of business comes during a typically slow month.

"We sold out (Saturday), which is incredible," Patrick Downs, of the lake-front Edgewater Hotel, told the paper on Sunday.

Rooms at the Edgewater start at $109, according to the Edgewater's website.

The Hotel Ruby Marie - a Victorian bed-and-breakfast inn within walking distance of Capitol Square - was sold out over the weekend and even had to turn away some protesters seeking rooms. The hotel's rates start at $92, the inn's website says.

"I wish we could have had another duplicate hotel because we would have sold that out, too," Cody Neuburg, the inn's weekend manager, told the paper.

Expect hotels to sell out again tonight. There no rooms left, for example, at this inn: The upscale, independent Madison Concourse Hotel.

Pizza places have been extraordinarily busy, the article says, as union supporters from around the world call in food orders to feed the protesters.

Ian's Pizza in Madison, for instance, had to stop taking orders from its regular customers so it could handle all the orders. As of Sunday night, the paper says Ian's had taken orders from pro-union supporters in 47 states and 14 countries, such as England, Australia, Finland, Turkey and China.
